The official Guinness World Record for the longest bicycle was set on April 30, 2024.

Measuring a total of 55.16 m (about 181 ft), the bicycle boasts a staggering length equivalent to four double-decker buses or two massive blue whales lined up in a row.
Created by a Dutch engineering team of eight members led by Ivan Schalk, this bicycle is not just an oversized showpiece but one that can actually be ridden by people, which adds to its significance.
To be recognized by Guinness, the bicycle had to balance solely on two wheels and successfully travel at least 100 meters powered only by human effort, a condition it met.
It looks like two regular bicycles connected by an extraordinarily long aluminum truss, but only two people are needed to operate it.
The front rider handles the steering with the handlebars, while the rear rider pedals to power the bicycle.

Ivan Schalk, who dreamed of Guinness records since childhood, and his team began the project in 2018. They overcame numerous challenges, including interruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, and finally achieved a new world record.
For reference, the previous record was a 35.79 m bicycle made in the Netherlands in 2015, which was broken in 2020 by Bernie Ryan of Australia with a 47.5 m bicycle, and now surpassed by Schalk and his team.
